-ooOoo-
H hug today I will explain to you a summary of Beijing University of mindfulness. Have you practiced Vipassana years should be understood Beijing University of mindfulness. In order for you to understand Beijing University of mindfulness up every morning in Vipassana courses I usually let you read the summary section of Beijing University of mindfulness on. This is a passage taken from Beijing University of mindfulness. Although this is only a summary paragraph Beijing University of mindfulness, but this passage is very important for the students to practice Vipassana meditation. There are clearly understood, accurate Beijing University of mindfulness meditators can meditate properly and have good results. If you do not understand Beijing University of mindfulness, students will not know how to meditate, meditate therefore misleading and not results.
We already know the method or insight meditation Four Foundations of Mindfulness Meditation is a method of meditation by the Buddha discovered. Buddha himself practiced the Four Foundations of Mindfulness, and after achieving good results, he took this approach to teaching during the forty-five years. During the forty-five years the Buddha explained repeatedly Beijing University of mindfulness. After the Buddha's nirvana, insight meditation methods were monks chanting and then recorded in writing and placed on the Tripitaka. Those who practice Vipassana meditation seriously rely on this basic texts or on the whole Beijing University of mindfulness to practice.
Passage above is extracted from the Beijing University of mindfulness. Pali texts is called Maha Satipatthana Sutta (University of Mindfulness), which means: "all legal discusses the basics of mindfulness " or "article discusses the legal setting mindfulness " . In doing Maha Satipatthana Sutta (University of Mindfulness), the Buddha taught the Four Foundations of Mindfulness Meditation practice or Vipassana. According to the teachings of the business, there are four basic, or four areas, or four places to establish mindfulness. The word sati is defined and explained in the glossary means: Mindfulness is set firmly. Mindfulness strong going into the object, covering subjects and settings on a solid object. Characteristics of mindfulness is not superficial, floating on the surface but deep in the object. Explanatory Notes are mindful not only superficial surface as a light object floating on the water to sink deep into the audience like a pebble in deep water. When practicing Vipassana, we have established a solid awareness on the main titles or headings on the current outstanding.
Let's consider each verse of this passage:
The literal Bhikkhu (bhikkhus)
Buddha is often called the monk Bhikkhu (bhikkhus). Bhikkhu . Bhikkhu mean many of which have a mean mendicants, who were begging. But beggars here does not mean begging as usual. Now begging him to stand before the Bhikkhu benefactor and not ask for anything. The benefactors have brought attention to the voluntary offerings of food for mendicants to grace the refrigerator. So Bhikkhu as mendicants noble or holy mendicants rather than the usual begging. Bhikkhu word also means the obvious dangers of rebirth. Based on this definition, not only monks, called the Bhikkhu that any layman any apparent danger of rebirth are called bhikkhus. Therefore, while explaining Beijing University of mindfulness I often use the word without using the word Bhikkhu The Master; because if I use the word for homeowners Bhikkhu , some people will think that this business just for the Master only. Why Bhikkhu Buddha used the word in his sermons? Because the Buddha lived in the monastery with the monk to teach, when he called the teacher is Bhikkhu. Of course, when he taught religion, the temple also has a number of laymen, but most are still Bhikkhu practice under his guidance. That is why the Buddha used the word Bhikkhu. Sometimes also used the word Buddha Bhikkhave.
General economic theory in the land of mindfulness is Kuru, a parish near New Delhi, India today. When business is theory, there are a lot of listening and lay under. According to annotate the Kuru people in the Land of diligent practice of the Four Foundations of Mindfulness. When they met often asked: In the four measures mindful of the Four Foundations of Mindfulness, do you practice? If respondents answered no, then that country will reprimand people and start teaching them how to meditate. But if they said they were close observation, observing life ... like this, like this ... they will be all praise: "You instead! You instead! Life you lots of happiness it is worthwhile. You have good use of their existence as human beings. It is because of people like you that the Buddha has appeared in the world. " Thus, when using the word Bhikkhu does not mean that the Buddha did not say to those who are not religious. Anyone who accept and practice the teachings of the Buddha are called Bhikkhu . Therefore, the Buddha said: "Hey Mr. Bhikkhu" must be understood as the monks, nuns and laypeople who are talking about.
This is the only way
The word "It" here is Vipassana or the Four Foundations of Mindfulness. So this question is understood as: Vipassana is the only way ...
To understand this question you must understand Pàli the word "only way". Pali is the only way "ekayana" . Eka means one, and Ayana mean streets. So ekayana means a road. The word "eka-yana" is interpreted in five ways.
- That's the first: This is the way "lone '' no turn. Since there is no fork should you go on this way you are guaranteed from the beginning until liberation.
- The second meaning is: Must go 'alone' on this road. In meditation you have to make a single journey, not co-operating. You can stay in the group, you can stay in a training course, but really you go on your own way. You alone. No one goes with you. No one can give you the gift of the mind and intellect of them, and you can not Gift concentration and wisdom of who you are at all. Therefore, although you can share a group, but actually you are meditating alone. Therefore, this is the way "unique", "child the road you have to go alone. "
- That Tuesday: "This is the path of him who". "The path of one who" means "the way of the Most High God." Buddha is the most noble of all human beings should be respected as one who profess Him. This path discovered by the Buddha and teach beings. Buddha as being the first to find out this way. So called: "This is a who's path."
- That Wednesday: "This is the only way" because the only road leading to a single goal, (which is Nirvana); therefore when traveling on this road you will surely reach the goal. Nirvana is the only goal that you reach when you go on this way.
- That Thursday: "This is the only way to reach Nibbana", the only way for the purification of beings, there is no other way. Satipat-Thana or mindfulness path is the only path included Nirvana, the cessation of suffering, destroy all sorrows.
About the only way that a problem is raised here:
When you say "This is the only way", the word "only" or "only one" here is to show Vipassana or Satipatthana means Mindfulness is the only way. But mindfulness as a factor of the Noble Eightfold Path. Are other factors in the Eightfold Path is not the path to purification of beings or what? The answer is: The other elements of the Eightfold Path is the path to factor in the purification of beings, but this path can not be lack of mindfulness. When mindfulness is mentioned, these other factors are also mentioned. Thus, the oil alone is said to be mindful, but we must understand that when it comes to mindfulness other seven factors of the Noble Eightfold Path is included in that.
Mindfulness is the only way to achieve nirvana, but mindfulness practice through a variety of ways, can contemplate the body, life concept, concepts, mindfulness or legal concepts of each part of the body etc .. Mahasatipatthana Xu said to twenty different practices we choose. So, I think that when he said "This is the only way" wrong result.
Mindfulness such as a sentinel. Without guards, anyone can go to the gate freely, not control. So, how long mindful of control, restrain the senses, the mind we were in the morning. Because mindfulness is right senses to the door so no one guarding the unwholesome mental factors that can come into our minds. When mindfulness is no longer guarding the senses, mindfulness has moved to another location or we lose mindfulness, all negativity going on. Thus, mindfulness is the only way to keep the mind clear.
People often argue about Pali word " ekayano "(a path). But in the Dhammapada, the Buddha said very clearly that: "This is the only way and no other way to purification of beings." Thus, we can not assume that the Buddha has said there is a different path. Buddha emphasized: "This is the only way" so, I think we have to accept that there is only a single path for the purification of beings only. If you take the practice to prove, sure we will see more clearly. When you try to actively meditate you will see clearly mindful that the only way. One thing should be noted here: Mindfulness is a major factor in the Eightfold Path, the path to where the escape suffering. As the Buddha said in the Dhammapada: Eightfold Path is the only way, it also means: Mindfulness is the only path that.
This is the only path to purification of beings
That is to purify the "heart" of beings. Heart of all beings contaminated by various kinds of afflictions. Our mind almost always clean, always be greed, hatred, ignorance, arrogance tame. The kind of disturbing to pollute our minds. Vipassana Meditation helps us to purify the mind. This is the only way to purify the heart of all beings. While you practice Vipassana meditation, the negativity as greed, hatred, ignorance, arrogance etc ... temporarily absent. When you reach Nibbana then your mind completely escape from every defilement. Take this road we will reach the floor level of the highest enlightenment and mind will be completely clean.
Purification here is purifying the mind beings, because the Buddha interested in purifying the mind rather than the physical body. This does not mean that the Buddha said we should not pay attention to the body, do not keep the body clean, but it is important that the Buddha would say is that keeping a clean mind. Therefore purification of beings here means purification of beings. In the glossary Buddha taught us to keep clean because mindfulness helps clean and intellectual development: Clean include clean inside and outside clean. Clean the inside is keeping the body clean. Clean the outside is keeping clothing, furniture, clean accommodation. Because mindfulness helps clean and intellectual development so we need to keep body and clean place to meditate. Cleanliness is essential to cultivate, develop and wisdom. Although we are not delinquent in keeping the body clean. But, as it is not enough, we must be more interested in keeping a clean mind. Therefore, the Buddha Ooi mindfulness is the only path to purification of beings.
This is the only way to put an end to sorrow, frustration mourn
Want termination, sorrow, frustration mourning we have to practice mindfulness. Sorrow is a mental state, frustrations lament is: 'just sulk and cry into small and lament'. To tame the sorrow we must practice Vipassana meditation. Vipassana meditation when you have to get to know everything that happens where you are. You have recorded each one thing to you in the present moment. When you get to know everything, when you observe things in meditation, the defilements can not arise. When you reach the last floor is Arhat, all sorrow, mourning your frustrations are eradicated. Many thanks to Vipassana meditation that sorrow, frustration mourning was tame.
This is the only way to end suffering and grief
Here is the suffering body aches in the body, the discomfort in the body, the mind and mental suffering is suffering, depression, frustration, anger, hatred etc .. When meditating for a long time you feel pain. At first you can not tame the pain, but if you patiently observe and acknowledge the pain, and when your concentration is strong, the pain will disappear and you tame the pain. Maybe the pain lasts but thanks mindful that you can live with the pain and accept the pain. As Venerable Anuruddha said: "When you can live with the pain, accept your pain, the mind will not be harassed, chaotic. Once your mind is no longer being harassed by the pain of the body they can say no more pain. " So, want to eliminate or tame our own suffering to Vipassana meditation. You can also conquer grief: depression, frustration, anger, hatred etc .. thanks Vipassana meditation. And when your meditation progresses, mind you reach the highest floor, the pain and grief will be destroyed completely.
Mental suffering is a mental state, sorrow is a mental state. We are always linked together. You can tame, eliminate or avoid unwholesome mental states, thanks to Vipassana meditation.
Each time an object of interest only. He could not recognize the two objects at the same time. I think we are lucky to be interested only recognize an object. If the mind can get two or more objects at once, the suffering of our biggest ever. Thanks mind that each time an object is only recognized so we can conquer grief and sorrow by practicing Vipassana. Get anger, for example. For example I am more angry he thought of his A. A then my anger rising. My anger increased sales because I took him as an object A to mind. But when I turn my attention from the thinking of Mr. A, the source of the anger into rage. That is, instead of focusing on Mr. A, I focus on the anger. By the time I moved the main focus on the anger at Mr. A took no longer present in my mind anymore. tng A, the object of anger, not even in my mind again, the anger is gone for good. This is an effective way to subdue the unwholesome mental states. This method seems simple but very effective because we have applied mindfulness forcefully confront the negativity. This is a good way to help us cope with these afflictions such as craving, attachment, anger, hatred, depression, anxiety, sorrow etc .. Any interest arising chug what basis we also can subdue them with mindfulness. While mindful of the strong one, the unwholesome mental states on will certainly disappear. Therefore Buddha: This is the only way to purify (center) being, terminated, sorrow, frustration mourning.
This is the only way to reach the Noble ...
When reading about Buddhism you will meet several times carefully. Sometimes thoughtful written in lowercase, but most are written in Chinese. Act as a technical term to refer to a group of eight elements, also known as the Noble Eightfold Path (Right Understanding, Right Thought, Right Speech, Right Livelihood, Right Effort, Right Mindfulness, Right Concentration). Eight of the Noble Eightfold Path arise at Reach Noble or Enlightenment. At Reach Noble or Enlightenment, the eight factors of the Noble Eightfold Path arise with a center called "spirituality". Letters from the Enlightenment is an obfuscation. People have used the word Enlightenment freely, comfortably, but only a few can really understand this word. Without a proper definition of the word Enlightenment we will misinterpret right. Depending on the user, depending on the religious Enlightenment understood words mean different things. Signature Enlightenment in Buddhism very dissimilar letters in the Catholic Enlightenment and Enlightenment very dissimilar letters are used in parties and political theory etc ..
Speaking to the Enlightenment, we need to know what is the Enlightenment. According to Buddhism, Enlightenment means "at the same time eliminating negativity and directly visible Nirvana, Nirvana visible face to face with Nirvana." For a student to practice Vipassana meditation, as they progress from low to high, more and achieve higher wisdom. Through constant practice of mindfulness meditation as such, to a point, a center ever ever, appear in their hearts. This center, is accompanied by an appropriate number of mental states, there is an extremely strong effort eradicate negativity, and negativity that have been eliminated will not come back again, at the same time take Nibbana as object. Thus, Enlightenment or Reach Noble is what happened at that time - at a time when the mind arises, eliminating negativity and take Nibbana as object. Tam Tam Dao called. Thus, to achieve the Noble just means simply Enlightenment. By the time you actually achieve Noble, you Awakening, eliminating negativity and retrieve the object hash Nirvana. There are four noble or four floor levels of enlightenment, there are also four types of spirituality. Each spirituality eradicate or weaken some negativity and when reached Wednesday spirituality, all defilements are eradicated. Noble wanted to achieve, achieve consciousness capable to eradicate all kinds of afflictions are only four foundations of mindfulness is the only path.
This is the only path to Nibbana .
Nibbana is a Noble Book. We can say that the Scoring Scoring Noble Path and the Realization Center Attain Nirvana's Path and Fruit. After the fruit Tam Tam Dao to right. Tam Dao immediately followed by two or three moments of Fruit Mind. If there is little understanding of the Abhidhamma (Abhidhamma) , then you will understand clearly on this issue. It should be added that the Act Tam Tam and fruit are taken Nirvana as object and "see" Nirvana directly. Both point in time is called Nibbana.
In short, the Buddha taught us Mindfulness is the only way to purify (center) being, terminated, sorrow, frustration mourning, the end of suffering and grief, achieve and realize Noble Nirvana. It is the Four Foundations of Mindfulness (four-way observation,).
That's Path Four Foundations of Mindfulness (four foundations of mindfulness or insight France).
We need to learn the word "foundation" and "mindfulness". First need to know what is mindfulness. All we have to meditate for years, but sometimes someone asks: What is mindfulness we can answer unwarranted. Mindfulness or insight is translated from the Pali word "Sati" , and texts called "Satipatthana." I have the Sati here. I translated Sati is "Mindfulness" or "insight" (attention observe a clear, crystal wall). Hard to find a better word to translate properly. Under the terms, Sati means "home", but common sense is Sati means broader and covers more than just an empty house. Glossary definitions Sati is, but its features are not superficial, that is not floating on the surface. If that is Sati , it is not superficial, surface but going into objects. Therefore, I always tell the students is to "fully conscious object" or to "consciousness across subjects." Sati has the ability (or result in) is not missing objects. How long do we have Sati or insight, we do not miss the object, not the object forget. Mindfulness and Insight is like a doorman standing at the door of the guys in the control.
"Platform" or "fundamental" of Mindfulness, actually means "set" or or "build", "firmly established mindfulness", "Mindfulness is built solid". Signature Satipatthana translated as "the foundation of mindfulness", "the foundation of insight", but to understand it is set firmly mindfulness, a solidly. In Beijing University of mindfulness, the Buddha said to the four foundations of mindfulness or four foundation of insight. When operating in a Vipassana meditation course like this, you practice all four platforms. But not you practice basic sequential each scored a classic like that, depending on the presence of the title, you apply a foundation or mindfulness appropriate way. In practice you have to concentrate on the current object. You can not ignore the current object. The object existing at the Body, Life sometimes is, there is at the center and at the French. Prominent object of the present invention is to focus on objects close to it. You must pay attention to the section on the present, not choice. That is why Vipassana is also known as "the conscious choice not". This means that when you meditate not selected for the position, but let's focus insight of what is appearing in the present.
After that the benefits of Vipassana meditation, Buddha summary guide us how to meditate under the four fundamental insight. Four basic is that?
Bhikkhu close observation of the body, ardent, aware and mindful, remove all craving and sorrow (anger) in the realms of life (in the body).
This is simply a brief but meaningful.
"Mindfulness and close observation of the body": This means that the practice of mindfulness Bhikkhu close observation, the Bhikkhu should observe a very subtle way, exactly clear. Bhikkhu observation or insight on the body itself, not observing sensations observe human body or the body etc .. Buddha repeated the word body, feelings, mind, approach is to emphasize that when observing objects Bhikkhu must observe a subtle way, exactly. When observing the body, must be diligent monk, monk to consciously insight (awareness) and the monk must be mindful. Effort is translated from the word "ATAPI". Usually when a text is translated into another language, then lost a little sense. Originally ATAPI is Atapa. Atapa means "the heat of the sun". The heat from the sun can make things heated up. The item is sun burn will be droopy and can burn always. Also, the effort will be heated or burned negativity. In the language of Pali, diligent called Atapa, and who have diligently called ATAPI , the word "inertia" only for the owner, is there. Thus, a person with Atapa called ATAPI . When reading the classic language of Pali, read the word ATAPI the mental image I will have a fire is burning diligent negativity. When translated text ATAPI or Atapa to that effort or ardent've lost image flames. Thus, ATAPI mean they have really good effort, not the lack of effort. The effort was truly mindful and conscious people wise.
When Buddha was Bodhisattva, he sat under the Bodhi tree and wish very firmly: "Oil for dried blood, dried meat, and the body the skin of tendon taken, we will not go away if not enlightened, we will strive diligently to achieve the aspiration. " The diligent efforts so-called New Right Effort. Thus, Effort want to have a brave willpower, determination real, and courage of this effort is to burn negativity. Signature ATAPI include all diligent efforts that we have mentioned. Effort Effort here is the Noble Eightfold Path. Effort in meaningful efforts to burn negativity, eliminating the unwholesome mental states by cultivate good mental states. The effort you made the effort to come here by attending a long-term course like this. But not only the courses are full, you must truly diligent efforts throughout the course. Only continuous diligent effort, you can prevent and eliminate the unwholesome mental states, cultivate good mental state. In this text, the word Buddha spent ATAPI to only those Bhikkhus, that is, those who see clearly the suffering of samsara diligent effort Vipassana meditation, and diligent effort is to burn negativity.
Lucid consciousness or awareness
lucid consciousness or awareness is clearly seen. Any new entry Thera Thera mind to see a clear way. Seeing clearly see through objects, seen by his intellect. For example, when focusing on the breath, the breath students will see clearly. Yogis clearly very dissimilar breath to breath, and breathing out and breathing in the other. Yogis also evident breath arises and passes away and then only breath and breath awareness that there is something called human, beings, men, women, nothing. A clear understanding of the so-called awakening. When mindfulness and clear understanding of an object, then you will understand all aspects of the object. At first meditation, the meditator is difficult to keep the mind on the object, the object centered on students also difficult to find a clear breath correctly. Yogis do not see the pure breath saw something nasty lurking, messy and murky. Later, thanks to the mind and practice development, students will see objects more clearly one day, then you will see the birth and death of breath etc .. Thus, awareness and the understanding is clearly not to the right from the beginning, but will come after you have gained some practical experience.
Want awareness and clear understanding, insight arises, should have different conditions: It is provisional. No provisional would not have seen clear. Concentration mind is a mental state to keep the components of the center pillar on the subject, do not leave them scattered outside. Provisional often described as a state of mind can head on objects for a long time. For example, if you take the breath as an object, then there is at the center, will center on the subject is breathing without direction to somewhere else. At each time point were kept Tam Dinh Department Center and its associated components, focusing on objects. Concentration collection center to keep in close attention, not to give them directions to other places. Concentration mind is a necessary condition to wake or insights arise. When developing the mind, the mind does not expect action, not disturbing dominant, quiet and tranquil, then the new center capable, wise enough to see the truth of things tuang. Water should be left undisturbed peace, not stirred scum we see through it. Also, more attention dominant negativity, stirred should be calm, quiet. How often are afflicted mind dominates, we can not see things clearly and accurately. When we have good concentration, the negativity, obstacles are tame. When negativity does not stir, the mind sharp, and it is time to awake and lucid consciousness arises, and foot tuang of things will be exhibited clearly.
Please read the above passage: ... bhikkhus observe the body in the body, ardent, aware and mindful, remove all craving and sorrow (anger) in the realms of life (in the body).
In the above passage we see three factors mentioned were: ardent, aware and mindful. Although provisional not mentioned in this passage, but we must understand that the center has been included in there. Sometimes a few words in a sentence can be omitted, it being understood that we were in there. Such a hunter tracking deer footprints to know the direction of the deer; at follow-up to a flat stone, they found no footprints deer, because deer legs unable to sign on a flat rock. But while crossing the rocks, the hunter saw the deer footprints. The hunter infer that the deer had crossed the rocks and keep going. The hunter saw deer footprints in the beginning and the end should be able to infer the middle. Also, be mindful that the first paragraph, mindful that end, we derive in the middle. In the literature on mindfulness placed after but actually in the practice of mindfulness is to put right after diligent (diligence - awareness - awareness) or (effort - Insight - clear understanding).
In the above factors were included in it, so we have four basic elements of meditation: 'effort - mindfulness - the mind and awakening' or 'effort - Insight - concentration and understanding clear '. When meditating, four factors or four mental states must operate harmoniously. But other factors also play a role very important in meditation are: Faith. Without faith we will not meditate. Faith here is not blind faith, but faith in the Buddha and believe in the truth of his words. We believe that the focus on the headings body, feelings, mind, this is not the mind is chaotic, negativity will not dominate. And once the mind is calm and tranquil, we will see the true nature of all things on earth, which is impermanence, suffering and non-self. When you see the truth of things tuang then we will all suffer. This is a true faith, a basic belief, and the belief that this can be proved by practice. Thus, we need to have more faith because without faith is not what can be accomplished. Therefore faith is an important factor in meditation. Although, in meditation faith manifest clearly that we can see, but still potentially in faith and works in harmony with the other elements. Thus, there are five key factors in meditation. English Pali called Indriya, translated in the right or in apartments (Tin Tan, mindfulness, concentration, and wisdom). The Zen meditation as often mentioned in this factor. In this authority must operate simultaneously and harmoniously together. Want to meditate in a good way, we have developed five factors simultaneously and harmoniously together. As we have said, at first the new meditation, students may lack the discernment, but after the heart has been developing students will see things clearly ... and five elements will operate harmoniously. If they do not work in harmony, then what will happen? The answer is that we will fail, and meditation will not have good results. When meditating, two factors diligence and concentration are two important factors that need to be balanced. If diligent and balance the mind, the dominant factor than other factors, meditation will fail. Must be diligent enough, not too much nor too little. Sometimes, we try our best because we want to achieve something. As the desire to achieve something, we try to attempt, but because there is too much effort to mind is agitated and restless. Becomes agitated and restless dominated, also lost concentration. Thus, much effort was not good. But if little effort, why? We will be sleepy and lazy should not be dominated by the center. Thus, the effort is not too much nor too little. Need a thing of effort and concentration: when the dominant factors are the other factors were declining. There is too much effort, concentration is declining, but not enough effort, the center is also declining. Concentration not mind too much. When the mind too much that we become lazy, tend to want to be comfortable leisurely effort should be decreased.
Suppose we are meditation and concentration are good. When we do not have good concentration diligent effort, but the mind remains on title. Do not need that much effort was made to ease the mind tend to loosen the effort. As casually as diligent effort to decrease the power that the mind becomes dull, lazy, lazy leads to caudal, sleepy. In this case we need to promote a diligent effort to be more diligent, focused more on the object parcel; sometimes need to consecutive record many more topics. As many have noted several consecutive titles such activities will center more and increase our effort to balance the concentration.
(According to the Venerable Mahasi recorded at many topics we can notice the feeling sit and feel many places in the body. For example:
- Focus on the sitting (or the whole feeling in the back)
- focus on the feeling in the buttocks exposed floor;
- focus on the sitting (or the whole feeling in the back)
- focus on feeling at foot contact with the floor
- to focus on the sitting (or the whole feeling in the back)
- focus on the feeling in the knee
- sit back and focus on the whole feeling in the back
- focus on sensation in the shoulder
- sit back and focus on the whole feeling in the back
- focus on hands collided sense to focus on the plenary sitting or sensation in the back
Just like all the right attention back to the left, where there is no feeling, it also focused a moment, then, to focus on other points. Accommodation focus only coin size.)
Thus, effort and concentration must be balanced to be nice meditation and conscious awareness or insight development.
Sometimes there are good concentration suddenly drop suddenly to mind. Why is that? Because we have more diligent too. There is one thing that students often face is nice to see that the mind immediately tried to think more effort to do it better and better concentration and wisdom as incurred more. But because so much more effort should be diligent and therefore the lack of balance results go against what we want.
Sometimes is is meditation and concentration are good. Although the center is nice, but suddenly felt sleepy students and down. Why is that? Because there is too much effort and concentration to the lack of balance. If there is too much concentration needs to be done to decrease concentration and enhanced by diligent attention to much time strategy titles (as mentioned above).
So meditation is not easy - I do not want to discourage you - but meditation is actually not easy. The very subtle meditation. Just the unbalanced mental state a little alone can destroy the mental focus that you tried setting.
In summary, five mental factors: credit,, mindfulness, concentration and wisdom must operate simultaneously and harmoniously. Five senses is like the parts of a an apparatus. Each department must operate adaptation, proper and in harmony with the other parts. If a unit does not operate properly, adapting the whole apparatus will be affected. Likewise, the elements in the army right: credit, tons, the concept, wisdom must operate rhythmic harmony; If an element does not work properly adapted, all these elements are disturbed, loss of balance and meditation will not achieve good results. Therefore, each element of contingent rights need to operate properly and harmoniously with the other factors.
Now we have to consider the value of mindfulness. Mindfulness is a mental state makes harmony. Mindfulness helped diligently not become too dominant or too down. Mindfulness helps the mind is not too much or too little etc .. Thus, mindfulness as a factor conditioning the other factors in meditation. That is why we say that mindfulness is always needed. Never has ever mindful too dominant. Mindfulness needed everywhere like salt need for food, or as a premier talent to do it all the king assigned. Mindfulness is an important factor in the five elements, but each element must operate in harmony and balance with the other elements.
When the five elements operate in harmony with the student upon awakening and awareness, the students will conquer greed and sorrow (anger). This is the result that students gain from awareness in meditation. Many texts translated as: after tame greed and sorrow (anger) rather than to conquer greed and sorrow (anger). Such translation is not correct. The purpose of meditation is to overcome greed and sorrow (anger). If you conquer greed and sorrow (anger) then where should meditate more. So care should be: to tame and tame (simultaneously) greed and sorrow (anger) should not be translated after tame craving and sorrow (anger). This means that students conquer greed and sorrow while Vipassana meditation. I want you to take note of this. (There should be an explanation concerning the Pali grammar, but so too should embrace that I had omitted).
Exclude craving for worldly sorrow and means eliminating greed and sorrow anger from objects that students are observing. Life on earth here is on the body, feelings, mind, law-related subjects to observe. When you see an object we can be attached to objects. If we object to is pretty good, we have to be attached to it, and if we object to is bad or obnoxious we can anger, hate ... that object. Thus, negativity can penetrate our hearts when we see, hear ... nothing.
To prevent negativity arises in the form of greed and sorrow, we need some kind of protection, and that protection is mindfulness. As we are aware, there is no chance of disturbing intrusion into our minds. When we are mindful, as we aware, and when we see objects clearly, we will know that the objects come and go, knowing they are impermanent. Knowing them very often so we do not cling to them. Thus, we can avoid craving or attachment or anger and sorrow on the object through insight meditation. Whether we use the word tame, exclusion or any other word actually means that we have been avoided or prevented from arising negativity, negativity did not come then we tame it or eliminate it. The true meaning of the exclusion is to prevent or restrain greed and sorrow arises in our mind. However, if the craving and troubles arise, we also take them as the object of mindfulness to eliminate them.
When it comes to enlightenment we often say: "at the moment of enlightenment" negativity excluded. But disturbing is excluded at this time? Negativity past, present or negativity negativity future? Negativity past has passed, so we do not need to exclude; less disturbing future, so we can not do anything about them. As current negativity, why? As disturbing presence there can be no enlightenment. Enlightenment is a good mental state and negativity is an unwholesome mental states. Improving mental states and unwholesome mental states can not co-exist. Thus, afflictions are eliminated at enlightenment not disturbing past, not the present affliction affliction nor the future. So disturbing are excluded here?
Actually, what is excluded at the moment of enlightenment is not called negativity or kilesa, follow Pali. We called potential (Anusaya), which means that the possibility arises. What is spirituality eliminate potential or "ability to generate negativity" is. When an object is always to say that we have character. Example of the smoke. Suppose you are a smoker, but right this moment you do not smoke. But when I asked: "Do you smoke?" You replied: "I smoke". Because you were smoking in the past and you will attract in the future, now you do not quit. Therefore, even though you do not currently smoke, you still answer: "I smoke". Also, now present here, and I hope you do not have the mental afflictions. But after listening to France is finished, you go out and step on sharp objects or someone pushing you so angry. And so is negativity has arisen. Negativity arises when conditions. Therefore, we say we have afflictions. Am I disturbing you afflictions. Right now I am here now and you do not have afflictions, but the potential to generate negativity remains in me and you. Potential or ability to generate negativity is what removes Path at enlightenment. Actually, there is disturbing is excluded at enlightenment. At enlightenment, spirituality only eliminate "the ability to generate negativity" only. The reason that negativity can arise because there is negativity (if not disturbing, what was disturbing problem arises again.) So, when it comes to tame or eliminate craving and sorrow (anger ) means to avoid or prevent negativity arises. But how to prevent afflictions arise? The answer is: Yes Vipassana meditation. When Vipassana meditation, we try to be diligent, we observe mindfulness, concentration, and we see things correctly and clearly. When we see things exactly clear defilement no chance to go into our minds. In this way, Vipassana eliminate negativity. The elimination or tame this negativity is just moments exclusion - exclusion by replacing. at this moment afflictions are eliminated, but in the next moment negativity can come. This is a very short elimination. Known is eliminated by replacing. This means that you have excluded unwholesome mental states by: User-friendly center facility to replace the unwholesome mental states. You have put in place good concomitants concomitants evil unwholesome mental states makes no opportunity arises. Therefore, called eliminated by replacing. The exclusion of this lasted only a moment. This momentary affliction is excluded, but moments later afflictions may arise again.
At the moment there Vipassana, greed and sorrow (anger) are excluded in this way. When you are out of Vipassana and you meet some conditions make afflictions arise, negativity will arise again.
But a different kind of exclusion is temporarily excluded. It is excluded by pushing away. When you push something away, that new material would a time, not back to the old site immediately. Such as dirt on the water. When you push the dirt away the dirt back to the roots is not right that will stay fresh for a while, then, dirt will slowly come back again. The exclusion or waiver is called "temporary exclusion" or "temporarily abandoned" or excluded by pushing away. This exclusion is achieved through a quiet meditation and meditation to achieve the floor. When a person achieve the levels of meditation, he will get rid of negativity in a while. Throughout the day afflictions can not come to them, maybe in a week or a month not to negativity. But this exclusion is only temporary because then back to their afflictions.
Exclude Tuesday called totally excluded. The word Pali is called completely eliminate samuccheda means sever. Exclude by cutting off. Like cutting off the roots of all plants that do not grow back. Thus, completely excluded or eliminated once all called eliminated by cutting and eliminating entirely by cutting off at the completion of enlightenment. These afflictions are eliminated in moments of enlightenment never return to this person again.
An Arhat has completely eliminate all negativity. He no longer craving, anger, no pride, no jealousy and no other types of afflictions. Even when he was teased for not angry. When you see an attractive material for oil anywhere, beautiful to him nor to start up a little iota craving, clinging. He eliminated the negativity cut off completely.
I've talked a lot about the first type of exclusion: exclusion moment, now we learn more about the types of exclusions second temporary exclusion.
Once you have nice meditation, you can eliminate greed and sorrow over the object you are observing, you can eliminate greed and sorrow on the object you are observing. Example: You are sitting cross-legged, back straight holding hands overlap, and to pay attention to the movements of the abdomen. At the time of the abdominal movement is heading you are observing, and feeling his hands are to overlap, feeling the buttocks touch the floor ... is the title you do not observe. When negativity on moving objects in the abdomen are excluded, the negativity on the subject at hand feeling in the buttocks are excluded)
If you practice Vipassana meditation in a good way you get two types of exclusion: You experience the kind of craving and sorrow on the subject observes; That moment is excluded. And you also prevent negativity or craving and sorrow arising on subjects not observe. It was temporarily excluded.
Normally, the eyes, ears, nose, tongue ... My contact with the contact object: color image, sound, smell, taste ... the craving and aversion arises in our mind. This often happens to most people. If not practice mindfulness on the object that we will be attached or hate that object. Therefore, be cautious note mindful whenever the base contact with the ceiling.
Vipassana Meditation can only achieve first two categories excluded, it is momentary and temporary exclusion excluded. But Vipassana can not be excluded third type of exclusion completely excluded. The complete exclusion can only be achieved by directing attention or at enlightenment.
Life on earth
As the Buddha said: Bhikkhus ... eliminate craving and sorrow, the life on earth do you mean by Bhikkhu ... eliminate greed and sorrow on the object that Bhikkhu observes. The word that life on earth is over the object is to observe. Such as in the sentence: Bhikkhu close observation of the body, ardent, aware and mindful, remove all craving and sorrow (anger ) in the realm of life . the text in the realm of life here means the body.
Craving and sorrow
Craving here means greedy attachment, attachment, greed and other similar mental states. Sorrow here are not only meant only sorrow that include anger, hate, hatred, depression, sorrow ... There are three unwholesome roots of greed, anger, ignorance. Join and Golf has been said here. Greed (lobha) or attachment, the first root evil, sorrow (dosa) is the root of hatred or evil Monday. Thus, when it comes to craving refers to all forms of lobha. and sorrow refers to all forms of Dosa. Delusion or Moha not be said substrate here because moha very difficult to prevent or eliminate. Thus, the sentence must be understood thus:
Bhikkhu practice practice by observing the diligent efforts, focused mindfulness, concentration and reached a clear sense wise, and now with diligence, mindfulness, concentration and awareness that has ( at the same time) to prevent or eliminate the craving and sorrow arises.
For the object of life, interest and legal too (Note that: overpower or eliminate craving and sorrow means conquer all obstacles year, because the two factors most strongly in obstacles are involved in the field has been mentioned, the remaining obstacles were also mentioned.)
You know four basic or four foundations of mindfulness is established. The reason there are four because there are four types of objects:
1. Observe the body or body concept: Sometimes the body does not mean that the entire physical body which is a group of elements or components of the material. Breathing is also called the body. The other part of the body is called the body itself ... The word here being understood that all contact with the body.
2. Observe the life expectancy or anniversary. Life is a mental state. Now pain in the body and the pain we experience this matter by our mind. In our mind there is a mental state called life. Because this is a pain, so the feeling is painful feeling. As the Buddha said: Bhikkhus observation on life expectancy means that the observer on the mental state of this life rather than concentrate on the pain. In practice we focus on the pain the pain and mindfulness to observe the pain. In fact, the concept of secretly recorded or "pain, pain," is that we have actually recorded concomitants life, and this life concomitants feel the pain in my body. Feeling of 3 categories: Fun, suffering and neutral.
3. Observe mode (mode) or in contemplation of consciousness. Usually Pali word translated as mind but should translate to better appreciate. Signature Citta means consciousness. In Buddhist Psychology, the Center is composed of four elements. So what we call the mind is actually a collection of four elements. Sometimes there is confusion between the two nouns mind and consciousness. First take a look at the collection center of knowledge and the elements of interest. Consciousness is defined as the perception or sense objects. conscious or aware this is not a conscious awareness or mindfulness. Consciousness here is only the consciousness or awareness normal. For example, I realized someone was standing there, though I'm looking at here. Awareness or consciousness so-called informal (citta). at least in the Abhidhamma also called perception alone is awake. Under normal circumstances, the official word has a wider or narrower definition. It should be noted at this point is: We use the word to refer to the formula (citta), but this does not translate correctly. Consciousness is defined as an element or component of interest, and the interest component of the duty conscious or aware of the object. Only when there is a new object identification exposure (exposure) to the object, the object perceived, like objects, not like objects etc .. Thus, the support center for informal basis, but as well as the components of interest. Thus, the first center is divided into two components: Food and mental states. Contact, feeling, perception, attention, likes, dislikes ... called mental states (the factors). By law, there are 52 wonderful and the 52 mental concomitants were divided into three groups: the life, thought and action. Thus, when we add life to your group, thought this out, we will have four components of interest: Life, Thought, Action and Consciousness. Each center received when objects are four components arise once.
Buddha with supreme wisdom can analyze and identify each mental state is a subtle way clear to them at the same time object recognition. This is a wonderful thing.
While meditation and anxiety arises we noted: "Anxiety, Anxiety", which means that at that time we have a formula associated with anxiety. This is an observation on the "official". As we noted: "angry, angry," then we are observing in the formula.
4. Observe the French in France: Dhamma (France) is a Pali word translation is very difficult or difficult to translate correctly. Depending on the circumstances, the word Dhamma is used with a different meaning. I can not use a fixed-letter word for it because to do so would Dhamma wrong. Dhamma is used in doing the Great Mindfulness is simply to just: Five obstacles, gather in groups, six bases, six ceiling, the seven enlightenment, the four noble truths. French word used to refer to the concept of legal measures just above it. Thus, should leave the word Dhamma, do not care, and take out the word Dhamma according to each case, each passage. Much care is Dhamma 'subjects of interest' or 'object of interest'. But either way, this service is not satisfactory.
Now let's learn how to observe on legal measures. If you focus on the hatred that you observe on legal measures. Here, again I repeat: France does not mean teaching or anything else. Seeing something and you pay attention to the ones in which you are observing on legal measures. Thus, the legal title to observe very broad include: Five obstacles, gather in groups, six bases, six ceiling, the seven enlightenment, the four noble truths. If we care about the Dhamma is the object of attention means taking interest to observe the object is not quite right because there are many objects not mind (like the ceiling: picture color, smell, taste ...) . If translated as "object of interest" means covering all subjects and objects do. Both mind and body are the object. So what concepts can also be referred to as the legal concept. Because the Dhamma can not be translated word for precision, so leave them alone Pali word, do not care.
I've told you that not practice the four basic mindfulness order written in the book, do not try to find out whether we are observing what areas of mindfulness: close observation, observing life, bar observe the mind or the law. If we're trying to see how this kind of mindfulness, the center will be disappointed. As a student, you must observe expenses recognized in current section; no need to find out what kind of title: body, feelings, mind or nothing approach. Oil headings whatever, your duty is to be mindful recorded from craving, attachment or anger, sorrow over the object you are observing this.
In order against greed and sorrow (anger) you have to pay attention to the effort. You do not have enough time to find out if this is the legal mind or is something else. When you have insight meditation practice on all four basic mindfulness each one as they occur. How long do you concentrate on the object of the present is you are doing, and good practice of meditation. Meditation is not a good idea when you pull away, you forgot to meditate for a few seconds or a few minutes. But as long as you are aware that you did the right thing and meditation are progressing well.
Have students think that if they do not mind being on the main topics that they do not meditate. Sometimes they say: "Oh, I have noted a waste of time to go elsewhere mind, and I do not have much time to pay attention to the title." Oil you focus on the main headings or sub-headings, that does not matter; as long as you pay attention to them is that you are doing.
The first important thing in Vipassana meditation is to focus on the object of mindfulness is happening in the present. Sometimes you are forgetfulness, you take the title this forgetfulness and recorded "Lost, Lost" or "forgetfulness, forgetfulness" and then return to the main headings. You must always be mindful at all times, in all places, and if you can keep constant mindfulness, attention parcel on the title, you will progress quickly and will begin to see the essence of things; which means you'll be heading birth and death. When students see things kill you also see things are impermanent. When you see things very often you see the essence of the animal suffering and selfless nature or that you can not control or control them; they arise and fall freely according to their wishes, we can not control them. When you see how you have seen three general nature of all conditioned things, the legal conditions. Seeing the nature of impermanence, suffering and egolessness of things is the goal, or the essence of Vipassana. If you practice Vipassana meditation you should see three properties because the word Vipassana (Insight) means that seen in many ways. And find meaning in different ways to see things in the light of impermanence, suffering, and in the light of the light of non-self. It is important, and the goal of Vipassana meditation is to see three properties, and to see the three properties we must observe, track title in the present. Want to focus on current topics you need to be diligent. No effort can not achieve good results. That is why the Buddha taught: There must be diligent, enlightened consciousness and mindfulness in insight meditation. When we can practice the full, complete these conditions - diligence, mindfulness, mindfulness - and concentration, we can conquer greed and sorrow on the object we are observing .
This is a summary of economic Mindfulness Great, great sermon on the basis of mindfulness. If you master this summary I believe that you will understand how the Vipassana and understand how to practice. There are many other detailed instructions for meditation, I hope you are familiar with these instructions.
Wish you practice according to the instructions diligently, mindfulness, awareness to be able to overpower every craving and sorrow anger life on earth.
